Fit for Digitalization in a Hyper-connected World

Lifebook Family U7

Digitalization within a hyper-connected world challenges companies in different ways. The expectations of modern customers as well as companies are faced with a fast changing workplace environment. Through globalization, connectivity and mobility are more important than ever before. Workplace transformation is on the rise with maximizing flexibility and at the same time minimizing costs. Shared desk solutions become increasingly important as they enable companies and their workforce to use expensive office space more flexibly and collaborate more effectively. The basic prerequisite for today’s work is the possibility to operate from anywhere and anytime. Therefore companies need to provide their employees with the right choice of notebooks to meet everyone’s needs.

Given the possibility of minimizing required space for hardware, more focus can be laid on design than ever before. This directly influences our outward appearance and perception of success. But still, a pretty and slick design won’t impress without the proper functionality.

With all this in mind, we have designed the new LIFEBOOK U7 family.

We wanted to create a series of devices that can adjust to the major types of modern business users. As such, we came up with not only one, but three devices representing one notebook family to fulfill the needs of our users. The new LIFEBOOK U727 fits business professionals who are in need of a small yet powerful device. With its 12.5-inch screen, 1.3 kg and only 19mm thin, it fits in every bag and is targeted at users who are always on the move. If a workday is mostly deskbound, the larger 15.6-inch screen of the LIFEBOOK U757 is perfect for working with multiple displays or creating spreadsheets. The LIFEBOOK U747 brings the best out of both worlds. The bigger 14.0-inch screen creates the perfect balance between business trips and a full day of ergonomic mobile working. All three family members are based on the latest 7th generation Intel® Core ™ processor and share the same BIOS image, mainboard and components, which streamlines management for IT departments and helps drive down lifetime costs.

When it comes to connectivity, the LIFEBOOK U7 family is compatible with the Classic Port Replicator but also utilizes the new USB-Type C Port Replicator, which enables new shared desk scenarios. The USB-Type C Port Replicator supports charging and data communications with only one cable solution making work place sharing more efficient. There is also no need for LIFEBOOK U7 users to compromise when it comes to connectivity, since all models feature built-in VGA ports and a full-sized LAN connector wherefore no adapters are needed.

The new LIFEBOOK U7 family guarantees ergonomic viewing with the anti-glare HD, FHD or FHD touch display option to make the most out of your screens capabilities. The use of more magnesium-aluminum better reflects durability and reliability within hectic work and life styles no matter if on a plane, train or anywhere else.

Security has always been a priority for Fujitsu. Next to an integrated SmartCard Reader and TPM 2.0, the new LIFEBOOK U7 family supports fingerprint or Fujitsu’s PalmSecure technology to enable user authentication without passwords.

The LIFEBOOK U7 notebook line-up will be available to order in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa from November, with the first shipments expected in January 2017. Pricing varies according to model, configuration and country.
