The multitude of different Open Data sources available to us and how we link them can unlock valuable new applications, capable of improving science, business and society as a whole. This is the driving theme behind our Linked Open Data Competition for France, which is being staged as part of the Fujitsu Innovation Gathering – Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe’s annual event that showcases our latest developments and solutions.
Open to both individuals and organisations, the competition is designed to encourage the creation of exciting new applications, using Linked Open Data, Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe and Fujitsu France have entered into a formal partnership with the prestigious École Polytechnique for judging the event, announcing total prizes worth Euros 18,000 for the five different categories:
- Energy Management
- Smart Factories – Industry 4.0
- Internet of Things
- A special prize for the best “Human Centric Innovation” from Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe
The LOD Competition winners will be announced on 9th June, at the 4th annual Fujitsu Innovation Gathering alongside the French leg of the Fujitsu World Tour at the Parc Floral de Paris.
With the Euro 2016 football championship starting the day after, an extra-special category has been added to the line-up – involving the best algorithm to predict the results of Euro 2016. The winner of this special category will not, however, be announced until after the championship is over!
Full details of the Competition and how to enter are available (in French) at 2016 Fujitsu Linked Open Data Competition
